VENUE to provide:
Flown system:! ! 8 x ! ! d&b E8, EM Acoustics EMS-81xʼs or Nexo PS8 loudspeakerʼs or equivalent with appropriate controller/amplifierʼs and flying hardware.
# # # # For seating configurations larger than 6 rows deep, or if there is a balcony level, 16x speakers will be required. Additional speakers may also be needed according to auditorium design.
# # # # These speakers are driven at high volume so should be driven one amp channel per 2 speakers maximum, with an amplifier capable of driving 750watts per channel into 8ohms.
Subs:# # # 4 x# # d&b B2/J-Subs or Meyer 650/700HP sub-bass. Please note: Meyer USW subs are not powerful enough.
Onstage:! ! ! 4x! ! d&b C4 or Meyer MSL-4 (ie 15” 35x35 degrees unit), flying hardware not required.
! ! ! ! For seating banks wider than 26 seats or rows deeper than 6 seats, Meyer MSL2ʼs or CQ2ʼs or EM Acoustics EMS152ʼs should be substituted.
! ! ! ! If there is a balcony level, additional speakers may be required for those levels.
! ! ! ! Each speaker is driven at very high level and will require itʼs own amplifier.
Flown Downstage:! 2 x ! ! d&b Q7, Meyer CQ2 or EM Acoustics EMS152 (ie 15” 60x40 degree unit) with appropriate controller/amplifierʼs & fly frames (vertical) with scaff clamps
“Flown” Upstage building: 2x! d&b Q7, Meyer CQ2 or EM Acoustics EMS152 (ie 15” 60x40 degree unit) with appropriate controller/amplifierʼs. Fly frames are not required.
Foldback: ! ! 3 x! ! Galaxy Hotspots or equivalent, 2 with flying frames
! ! ! ! 1 x! ! Fostex 6301 self-powered monitor with volume control, or equivalent (for DSM/show caller)
Assistive listening:# An infrared assisive listening system should be provided for the audience, which we will provide a feed for. Induction Loop system cause interference with our sound and video systems so should not be used.
Exact speaker quantities and types will need to be determined for each venue. We are open to suggestions for substitutions, but these must be approved by Gareth Fry at least 2 weeks in advance of the fit-up.
Please note, Black Watch is a LOUD show! It contains sustained periods of loud sound and music playback, as well as loud explosion sound effects. Consequently the sound system needs to be capable of sustained high
volume, high quality reproduction without distortion.
Mixer:# # # 1 x# # Yamaha M7CL32 or M7CL48 mixer
# # # # 1 x# # Yamaha MY16AT dual input/output ADAT card for M7CL mixer
# # # # 1 x# # 16 channel mixer for monitoring radio mics at radio mic rack
Playback:## # 1 x # # Dual-redundant QLab playback system offering at least 16 channels of output in ADAT format, which can be based around Mac Minis. QLab version to be at least v2.3.7 on both machines and fully licenced.
# # # # # # The system must offer ADAT switchover hardware (ie RME ADI-648, Friendchip DMX12 etc) and MIDI switchover hardware.

Processing# # 1 x# # Yamaha DME24 or DME64, with control PC. A DME64 is required for auditoriums requiring three rows of Flown vocal reinforcement speakers
# # # # # # A DME24 will require 1x MY16AT dual ADAT expansion card with 2x 8 channel ADAT - analogue converters
# # # # # # A DME64 will require 1x MY16AT dual ADAT expansion card and 3 x MY8-DA96 cards or equivalent to give 24 analogue outputs
Wireless# # # 14 x# # Shure UR1M (not Shure UR1) transmitters and receivers. Or Sennheiser UHF radio mic system with SK6212 transmitters and receivers, with 4 x spare trasnmitter aerials.
! ! ! ! ! ! The Shure radio mic’s should be provided with DPA DAD6010 adaptors to connect our DPA 4060’s to the transmitters
! ! ! ! ! ! If Sennheiser radio mic’s are provided then DPA DAD6003 adaptors should also be provided to connect our DPA 4060’s to the transmitters
# # # # 1 x# # Diversity IEM system for pool table speakers
# # # # # # Batteries should be supplied to allow for a battery change for every performance and every 5 hours of technical rehearsals.
Please note: We are touring a radio mic runner who will monitor the radio micʼs during the show - all receivers should have a headphone socket, or a split output to a headphone monitoring
station or small mixing desk to allow them to monitor the radioʼs. The receivers should be installed underneath the seating with remote aerials as close to the playing area as possible.
Mains:# # # 1 x # # APC-1400 Smart UPS, or equivalent (for computers and DME at mix position)
# # # # The system should be connected to a dedicated sound mains supply, ie not used for anything other than sound equipment. Mains distribution should be provided as necessary.
Comms# # # 1 x # # 6-way wireless duplex intercom system (not walkie talkies). Interfaced into Wired intercom system
# # # # 1 x# # Wired intercom system with single muff headsets
# # # # # # Circuit 1: DSM, Sound op, LX op, Video op, Stage Manager in auditorium, Down Stage Left, Down Stage Right, Upstage cabin, Spare
# # # # # # Circuit 2: LX op, Lighting designer
# # # # # # In some venues additional comms will be needed for: Sound designer, Video designer, Translator. Spare beltpacks and headsets should be provided for both wireless and wired systems
! ! ! ! ! ! Batteries should be provided for wireless commʼs as necessary.
Cable:# # # Speaker cable, XLR, mains cable, etc should be provided by the venue to connect the system as detailed in the attached schematic & layout plans. This show requires an unusally large number of XLR Y -splits!
Please note: all equipment supplied must be of professional audio quality, in good working order and constant for the duration of the run. We reserve the right to reject any item supplied, if it is deemed to be of inadequate quality, unsuitable for
it’s supposed purpose or in poor condition whether of a cosmetic or electrical nature. All speakers, rigging accessories, mic. stands etc must be matt black in colour.
NTS will provide:

Speakers# # # 4 x# # EM Acoustics EMS51 speakers mounted under the pool table, feb by 12V car amp with dry cell batteries and charger, fed by your IEM system
